RESOLUTIONS.

Proposed by Mr Moore and seconded by Mr Pharazyn — That the Engineer be authorized to lay off and make a contract for the formation of the road at Maxwell reported upon by him. Carried. Proposed by Mr Watt, and seconded by Mr Iveson — That the Engineer be authorized to form and lay before the Board an estimate for the formation and claying of that portion of the road leading through Westmere to the main line to where the clay commences, known as the Kai Iwi road. Carried.

Proposed by Mr H. Dymock, and • seconded by Mr Watt — That tenders be called for the erection of a Bridge over the Goat Valley stream as soon as the plans are completed by the Engineer, the cost not to exceed £150, or thereabouts. Carried.

Proposed by Mr Watt, and seconded by Mr Iveson— That the Engineer be instructed to examine and report upon the cost of making the portion of the Swamp road, in the neighbourhood of Mr Parkes' property. Carried. Proposed by Mr Pharazyn and seconded by Mr Moore — That application be made by the Board to .the Superintendent to proclaim that clause 84 of the Highway's Act shall be in force in. this district. Carried. Proposed by Mr Ivekon and seconded by Mr Dymock — That in accordance with the Engineer's report tenders be called for clearing the drains on the Bnmswick Road, and that the Engineer be authorised to employ the necessary labor to rake in the ruts on the contract just completed. Carried.

Proposed by Mr Pharazyn, seconded by Mr Watt— That Mr Field's services as engineer be accepted in the terms of his letter of 6th March, 1876 ; carried.
