WELLINGTON.

April 7. Arrived — Manawatu from Wanganui.

April 6. The Supreme Court criminal sittings concluded. Few cases of any general interest. Captain Denis Wright, late captain in luTth Rfgt., charged with obtaining- money under false pretences, was acquitted but before leaving the Court he was arrested on another similar charge at the suit of W. S. Moorhouse.

The work of filling- in the Thorndon reclamation has now seriously commenced.

The Post says it is a disgrace to the Government that the business of the Resident Magistrate's Court should have been carried on in the present den. Would not be surprised if those exposed to the sin-'U were attacked by fevor.
