" Coningsby " was bred by E.. Watson, Esq., of Dogaih; he is by that noted horse ".Sampson," the property of W. Gaul, Esq., of Alfred, which took the Ist prize at the Eoyal Agricultural Show at Newmarket in 1960 ; out of "Brownie" by Mr Hallam's "Gay Lad;" grand sire was the -equally celebrated horse " Sampson," the property of W.
