AUCKLAND LIVE STOCK MARKET Mr Alphei) Buokland reports that dairy cows on Thursday last wore in short suppiy and of indifferent quality. Store Cattle of all descriptions were in full supply and in demand. Fat cattle were penned in exenss of requirements, mAM Vl' lC r,s v/ere lower ful!7 5s the lUOib. Sheep were offered "in larger nu mbersthan for many weeks. For stores tiicrs was an active demand at full rates, out fat sheep were irom Is to 2s each lower in price than last week. Pigs were fairly represented, and those of good quality were better worth. Following are the prices obtained:—Dairy cows near calving, £5 io a to £7 10s; calves, £1 to £.1 7s 6d ; 18-month- °. kis L£2 lOs to ~3 37s Od ; dairy cows, x-2 os to £4 : grown steers, £5 15s to £7 los ; fat cattle, £1 to £1 Os the 1001b ;! store sheep, from 9s ; lambs, from 4s 6d each ; fat sheep, from 3i- to 4d per lb • pigs, 2-kl to 3d per lb. " 110 fat cattle,' 1,037 sheep, were sold to the butchers.
