The creature . stooped and grasped a stick from the fire. This he' swung round and round until the fire on the end had gone out, when he repeated tho manoeuvre. Tho hunter sat and watched him as ho whistled and scattered fire about. Having amused himsdf apparently as long as he desired he started to go, and having gone a short distance returned and Avas joined by another—a female unmistakably— when they both turned, passed within twenty yards of the hunter, and then d'sappoarod in the bush. The whistle W is such as hoys produce with two fingers under tlieir tongue. Tho writer adds that several persons have come across the tracks of these creatures, and ho has met with one person avlio has soon them.
