Cavalry Parade.—The Wanganui Cavalry paraded this day, for drill and inspection of arras. Erratum.—ln giving some account of the gold mining company which is; being organised in Wanganui, we stated that ■the payments upon each share would be 5s a week; it should have been 5s a month Schooner Canterbury.—We are glad to learn that this vessel, favored by a slight breeze, succeeded in getting off the beach early this morning, after discharging her cargo, and came up the river this afternoon. Funeral of Mr Ross.—The remains of Mr Ross were conveyed yesterday .to their last resting place, in the Wanganui cemetery. A large number of his friends and fellow settlers joined in the funeral procession, and every mark of respect was shown for the memory of the deceased. Funeral of Tamati.—Our contemporary the Times made a slight mistake this morning in announcing the funeral of Tamati Puna to take place this day. Several gentleman acting on the incor^ rect information went to Aramoho, and -were informed by the natives, who seemed much annoyed, that the funeral would not take place until to-morrow at 3 p.m.
