UNIVERSAL MEDICINE FOR CHILDREN. DR. SAMUELS' Anthelmintic, or Worm Powders. The Proprietor of this invaluable and easily taken medicine begs leave to introduce it to tbe public with the utmost confidence in its efficacy. These Powders are prepared from a valuable and private receipt; they are pleasant to the taste, and mild in their actions, and their composition that which cannot at all injure the most delicate constitution. Prepared under the personal superintendence of Dr. Samuels. Symptoms vary according to the species of Worms. . Direct symptoms are sometimes observable, such as Disgust of Food, an Irregular Appetite, Nausea, Vomiting, Griping, Pain in the Stomach, Disturbed Starting and Grinding" of the Teeth in the sleep. Foul Breath, Perspiration, Headache, Dilation- of the Pupils of the Eyes, Bleeding from the _Nbstrils," Squinting, Hardness, Swelling and Rumbling in tbe Belly, Pinching and Gnawing of the Stomach, Itching and Irritation in the Nose and Navel,'&c, which leads the patient to pick and scratch those parts; Head Symptoms, Convulsions, Ptyalism, &c. The medicinal action of the Powders are as follows : —Shortly after having taken the proportionate dose the patient may expect to feel somewhat squeamish, Purging, unattended With pain or danger, which will continue for a short time, when the Worms may be looked for. Note.—These Powders are likewise excellent as a family Aperient Medicine, given in doses about two-thirds or one-half less than thai prescribed for Worms. Directions.—For Children : Two years old, half a powder; ' from two to six years, one powder and upwards in proportion. As an Aperient to Regulate the Bowels: Two-years old, a fourth part of a powder; from two to six years, half a powder and upwards in proportion. To be taken in the morning, fasting.
