UNIVERSAL MEDICINE FOR CHILDREN. DE. SAMUELS' Anthelmintic, or Worm Powders. The Proprietor of this invaluable and easily taken medicine begs leave to introduce it to the public with the' Utmost confidence in its efficacy. . These Powders are prepared from a valuable and private receipt; they are pleasant to the taste, and mild in their actions, and their composition that which, cannot at all injure the most delicate constitution. Prepared under the \ personal superintendence of Dr. Samuels. Symptoms vary according to the species of Worms. Direct symptoms are sometimes observable, such as Disgust of Food, an Irregular Appetite, Nausea, Vomiting, Griping, Pain in the Stomach, Disturbed; Starting and Grinding of the Teeth in the 'sleep,. Foul Breath, Perspiration, Headache, Dilation of the. Pupils of the Eyes, Bleeding from the Nostrils, Squinting, Hardness, Swelling and Rumbling- in the Belly, Pinching and Gnawing- of the Stomach, Itching and Irritation in the Nose and Navelj&c, which leads the patient to pick and scratch those parts; Head Symptoms, Convulsions, Ptyalism, &c. The medicinal action of the Powders are as follows : —Shortly after having tat en the proportion-ate, dose the patient may expect to feel somewhat squeamish, Purging, unattended with pain or danger, which will continue for a short time, when the Worms may be looked for. . \ Note.—These Powders are likewise excellent as a family Aperient Medicine, given in doses about two-thirds or one-half less than that prescribed for Worms. ■ Directions.—For Children : Two years old, half a powder j from two to.six years, one powder and upwards in proportion. As an Aperient to Megulate the Bowels: Two years old, a fourth part of a powder; from two to six years, half a powder and upwards in proportion. To he taken in the morning, fasting.
