MILITIA REGULATIONS FOR the Pay and Equipment of the iVew Zealand Militia when called out for Service, or embodied for Actual Duty. 1. The pay of Privates when on actual duty within their own districts will be two shilling's and sixpence (2s Hd) a day and rations ) or four shilling-s (4s) a day if'tUev are required to provide their own provisions. Under no circumstances will rations of rum be issued. 2. Clothing- and blankets will not be supplied, but in lieu thereof e\v<ry man will l»e allowed :>ix shillings o .is). for each month or portion of a inonch (being- not less than two weeks) during- which he may be required to serve. 3. If rations are supplied to the wives and families of the men, the cost of the same will be charged ag-ninst the pay of the husband or fluher. 4 In districts where arms and ammunition are placed in the hands of the Miiitiamen for their own defence, they will be required to :v> .rend drills in the neighbourhood of tht;i:owu homes, and to parade qust-rterly for inspection without.any pay.- in rural districts, if required to attend a sing-le drill once or twice a luoiub, they will receive one shilling' iir>i sixpence fls-6d) for each atfetuiance of.not less than one-hour and a half!
