William Eolleston, Minis ter of Mines, &c, accompanied by Warden Eevell, Messrs Browning and Barron (Private Secretary) left here for Lyell at 4> p.m. yesterday, and will reach Westport this evening. They will return to Beefton on Friday, en route for Grreymouth. The Minister will be entertained at a banquet here on Friday evening. January 11. A fire broke out at 5 o'clock this morning in an unoccupied building adjoining Kater's Exchange Hotel, Broadway. The fire got good hold of the building and extended to the Exchange Hotel, and with the latter was burnt to the ground, together with all contents, the occupants of the Exchange losing everything. Kater's Hotel was insured in the New Zealand office for £925, but £SOO of the amount is believed to be re-insured in the Victoria. LTELL. January 10. The Hon. Mr Eolleston, Minister of Mines, and party, accompanied by Warden Bevell, arrived from Beefton last night. A dividend of fifteen per cent, will be declared, absorbing £15,000. The small-pox patients, Crawford and Stamner, per Zealandia, had been vaccinated.
