Alhambra is due on the West Coast on the 31st instant, and will convey passengers to Melbourne via New Zealand ports. The Grey River Argus says that the Grey river entrance is now not very safe. There is no want of water, but the channel is very narrow, and takes a very sudden turn which exposes vessels to a broadside sea. The s.s. Murray on entering pot into difficulties through this cause, and for a short time touched on the North Beach. Luckily, however, she got off again, and arrived at the wharf all right. A passenger per Murray to Westport said that in coming out it was easily practicable for anyone to have jumped from the vessel on to dry land.
