ST. JOHN'S SUNDAY SCHOOL.
The annual distribution of prizes to* the children attending St. John's Sunday School took place in the church yesterday afternoon, at four o'clock. There was a large attendance of the children. The Rev. A. C. Soutar distributed the prizes, consisting of a large number of instructive books, handsomely bound and illustrated. The following are the names of the children who obtained prizes : For Knowledge of the Creed, the Commandments, and the Lord's Prayer. BOYS. 1, John Munro ; 2, John Ward and Frank D. Winstanley; 3, Thomas E. Fleming. GIRLS. 1, Lisa Bierstorff; 2, Matilda Lloyd and Janet Blyth ; 3, Emma Stevenson and Mary Ellen Morris. For General Proficiency and Diligence. BOTS. First Class—l, John Munro; 2, John Ward ; 3, Robert M'Farlane and William Gothard; 4, Thomas Reid Fleming ; 5, Charles Wmstanley. Second Class—l, Edwin J:Gothard; 2, Geo. Munro ; 3, Alex. Stevenson; 4, Ward K. Rathbone. Third Class—l, John F. Ambrose ; 2, William A. Ambrose; 3, AVilliarn Carpenter; 4, Thomas Berry. GIELS. First Class—l, Emma Stevenson and Matilda Lloyd; 2, Janet Blyth ; 3, Mary Hollingworth ; 4, Lisa Bierstorff; 5, Mary Ellen Morris; 6, Adelia M unson. Second Class—l, Elizabeth Young ; 2, Jessie M'Rae; 3, Annie Turner; 4, Kate Blyth. Third Class—l, Christina Agnes M'Leod ; 2, Emily B. Stevenson. The Rev. Mr Soutar, after distributing the prizes, announced that the annual picnic would be held on Easter Monday or Easter Tuesday.
