The remains of the late IVIr Charles Coombe Kenny, of the Napier Telegraph Department (who expired suddenly on the 23rd ult.), were conveyed from the residence of W. Marshall, Esq., to their last resting place on Friday morning, followed by a large number of friends. Two of the deceased gentleman's brothers arrived in the Ahuriri, from Wellington, and were therefore enabled to be present at the interment. The Rev. John Townscnd, of St John's Church, read the beautiful service of the Church of England in a most impressive and earnest manner.—" Hawke's Bay Herald."
