.The steamer Alhambra reached here on Saturday, bringing Victorian news to the 7th.
A continuation of tho terrible floods in Victoria is reported. The town of Echuea is entirely submerged. At the Melbourne races, Tim Whiffler won the Melbourne Stakes easily. The Hotham Handicap was won by Nimblefoot. Trump Card carried off' the Essendon Plate, and the Footscray Plate was won by Dane. The horses Trump Card and Tim Whiffler have improved in the betting for the Cup, but little betting is being done.
