FATAL ACCIDENT AT TAIERI.

(from our own correspondent.) Hokitika, Friday.

An accident occurred on Thursday at the Taieri ferry, resulting in the death by drowning of a man named Marcus Eyrie, a passenger by Cobb and Co.'s coach.

The deceased had just been married in Dunedin, and was returning to Balclutha in the coach when it capsized.
