EDUCATION EATE. )UESUANT to the provisions of the "Education Act, 1863," the Superintendent directs it to be notified that the annual Rate imposed by the said Act upon all householders residing within the Educational District of Westport, will be levied on Tuesday, the 2nd day of August, and that the same will be received by me at the Court-house, Westport, "between the hours of ten a.m. and four p.m. on that day. The aforesaid Act requires that " every householder in said Educational District shall pay annually twenty shillings, and a further sum of five shillings for every child of such householder between the ages of five and fourteen years; Provided always, that no person shall be liable to pay for more than four (4) children, nor for any child residing more than three miles from any school established under this Act; nor for any child attending any school not established under this Act, in respect to whom such persons shall produce to the Collector a certificate signed by the teacher of such school, showing that such child has attended during the three months previous to the levying of the rate."
