The New Zealand Gazette, of March 25th 1 publishes the following regulations foi thefl banks as above newly established at Christ I church, Lyttelton, Kaiapoi, Tiraaru, Akranafl Hokitika, Greymouth, Waimate, WestportH and Charleston. S 1. Interest at he rate of 4 per cent, perl annum is given on £2OO and under; at thefl rate of 3 per cent, per annum on eumsfl under £SOO ; and in the same proportion for ■ any shorter time on every complete £\ de-fl posited, provided that no intere» on more than £SOO. ■■ 2. Depositor? ~m the Post Office Saving gfl Banks have duvet Government Security forfl the prompt repAyment of their money. fl 3. A deposits in any one of the Post OfScejfl Banks can continue his deposits at any otherfl of such Banks, and can withdraw his moneyfl at that Post Office Bank which is most con-M venient to him. ■£ 4. The strictest secresy is observed wit! fl respect to the names of depositors in PostH Office Banks, and the amounts of their dc-9 possits. 9 6. Money may be deposited by or on be M half of minora. Depositors over seven yearsfll of age are treated as persons of full age butfl minors under seven years of age cannot witlifl draw their deposits until they have reached*! the age of seven. MJ 7.
