The schooner Northern Light -will leave for Melbourne at noon to-duy, mid will probably 1)0 towed out by the steamer Murray. The s.s. Murray arrived at Westporfc on Friday evening from Nelson, and has been since detained in consequence of severe weather and heavy sea. Sbe proceeds to Hokitika and Greymouth to-day. The s.s. Waipara arrived from southern ports on Saturday morning, discharged cargo for Westport, and transhipped a quantity of gunpowder and other cargo into the ketch Constant for Charleston. Took in a small cargo for Brighton, and left the same evening at nine o'clock, and arrived at Greymouth on Sunday at 7 a.m. She would probably be unable to land her cargo at Woodpecker Bay owing to unfavorable weather. The s.s. Wallabi arrived at Westport from Greymouth on Saturday morning with 100 tons coal, discharged a portion here, and proceeds with balance to Wanganui to-day. The p.s. Charles Edward, arrived at Nelson at 4.30 p.m. on Friday. By the arrival of the next steamer we shall be in possession of full particulars respecting her protracted passage. The s.s. Kennedy, though not telegraphed as having left Nelson, would have probably sailed for Westport last night, and will in »such case arrive to-night. Owing to the severity of the weather and expected flood in the river, the s.s. Murray, ketches Brothers and Sister and Constant, and schooner Amateur, left their moorings and took shelter in the Lagoon, where they now lie. None of the above sailing vessels are likely to clear out to-day. The steamship Great Britain, for so many years a favorite passenger boat between the Colonies and England, is again notified to leave Ilobson's Bay for Liverpool on the 28th inst., under the command of her old and respected commander Lieut. J. Gray.
