POST OFFICE SAVINGS' BANK
The New Zealand Gazette, of March 2 publishes the following regulations foi banks as above newly established at Chi church, Lyttelton, Kaiapoi, Timaru, Aki Hokitika, Greymouth, Waimate, Westc and Charleston. 1. Interest at be rate of 4 per cent. annum is given on £2OO and under; at rate of 3 per cent, per annum on t\ under .£SOO ; and in the same proportion any shorter time on every complete £m posited, provided that no interest be alloi on more than £SOO. 2. Depositors in the Post Office Savit Banks have direct Government Security the prompt repayment of their money. 3. A depositor in any one of the Post O Banks can continue his deposits at any ot of such Banks, and can withdraw his mo at that Post Office Bank which is most ( venient to him. 4. The strictest secresy is observed v respect to the names of depositors in I Office-Banks, and the amounts of their possits. 6. Money may be deposited by or on half of minors. Depositors over seven yt of ago are treated as persons of full age, minors under seven years of age cannot wi draw their deposits until they have readl the age of seven. . 7.
