WESTPORT HOSPITAL COMMITTEE.
The monthly meeting of the Westport Hospital Committee was held at the Court house on Tuesday evening; present Messrs Powell, Whyte, Sheahan, Humphrey, Simpson, Munson, Munro, and Reid. Mr Munro, Secretary, reported that steps had been taken by the Sub-Committee appointed at last meeting for the holding of a concert in aid of tho funds of the instituton, and that a programme had been drawn out, which was in course of rehearsal, and he hoped before the next meeting of the Committee that the funds would be considerably augmented by tho proceeds of the concert. Tho Treasurer, Mr Reid, stated that the expenditure for the month of March was £OO 9s sd, and that the balance at the credit of the Hospital on the Ist of April was only £35 3s 7d, not sufficient to pay tho current month's expenses, and pointed out that tho Committee would require to devise means to maintain the institution until the month of Juno, when the term of offico of the present Committee expired. Tho matter was held over for consideration until the next monthly meeting. Messrs Humphrey, Munson, and Field were appointed the Visiting Committee for April.
