The schooner Excelsior. Archibald Bell, master, from Dunedin, arrived at Westpm't on Sunday with a fall cargo of merchandise. She cleared Otago Heads on the morning of the 25th ult., encountered light baffling winds until passing the Buff on the 28th ; made the South-west Cape on the 30th, with dirty south-westerly weather, attended with heavy squalls, got oil' Bald Head on the morning of the Ist inst.; hove to 12 hours, and the weather moderating bore away for the Buller, and anchored oil' the port, on S.iturday, at 4.30 p.m. Captain Bell reports no vessels loading at Dunedin for this port. The schooner Maid of Erin arrived in the roadstead on Saturday, where she has since been delayed waiting a tender, the wind being unfavorable for crossing the bar. The p.s. Lioness was expected from Hokitika to tender her, but was unable, ive believe, to leave that port owing to the stranding of the brigantine Prosperity from Melbourne. BY ELECTRIC TELEGRAPH. ARRIVALS.
