_ J. E. G. (Charleston). —■Your letter referring to the presumed author of the article in the Charleston paper on Mr Donne, M.P.C., contains, to our own knowledge, much that is both true and deserving of publication for the public interest ; but as the article itself is understood to be the subject of legal proceedings instituted by Mr Donne, it would neither bo seasonable nor discreet to allude either to the matter or the man. All the consolati m we can give you is that, with or without the publication of your letter, " truth is great and it will prevail."
