Australian securities are firm. English wheat, new, 48s ; old, 555. The third series of Colonial wool sales commenced in London on the 12th. There' were 6166 bales catalogued. There was a large attendance of foreign and English buyers. The biddings were considered spirited. The closing rates of the May, June, and July sales were fully maintained. The arrivals to date have been 186,67-1 bales, to which must be added 35,000 bales, mainly Port Phillin, held over from previous sales. Total 215,000 bales. Victoria fleece, scoured, Is l|d ; greasy, 9|d. Australian copper is quoted at £77 to £77 10s per ton.
