Mr Spurgeon, at the annual meeting of the friends of his college, mentioned a circumstance in connection with that institution which reflects great honour on his housemaid. Sone unknown friend one evening dropped bank notes to the amount of L2OOO into the letter-box of Mr Spurgeon's residence at Clapham, which noteß were found next morning " lying on his oilcloth."
