REPLY TO THE ADDRESS CARRIED. (BY ELECTRIC TELEGRAPH.) (FROM OUR OWN CORKESrONDESTT.) "Wellington, Friday. The Reply to the Address was moved by Mr N. Edwards aud seconded by Mr Swan. It was carried apathetically. A motion of want of confidence in the Ministry is expected early. The New Zealand Steam Navigation Company have held another meeting, and passed a resolution favoring the sale of their plant to the Circular Saw line. The criminal sessions of the Supreme Court is concluded. The only important case was that of the prisoner O'Rourke, belonging to the Armed Constabulary, who was charged with committing a rape at Otaki. He was sentenced to four years' hard labor.
[The telegram from Wellington which we printed in our last number was incorrectly transcribed. It should have read: —" The General Assembly was opened to-day by commission, which included Dr Pollen, Major Richmond, and the Speaker of the Legislative Council.
