COMMERCIAL.

Business has been rather animated during the week. The rush to (he Mokilnoui has caused some stir amongst our business people, and several parcels of goods have been despatched to that quarter. Should favorable accounts continue to come to hand, we anticipate a greater demand for that district. Considerable quantities of goods have also been despatched to Charleston and the Lyell. Wc have little alteration to note in prices. Adelaide flour is firm at last week's quotations. Interprovincial is a little easier, owing to advices of several parcels coming forward. In sugars a further advance is noticeable ; Victoria Company's 2nd white has been quoted at 60s. The market is very barely supplied with hams. For prime samples of Sinclair's Is 5d has been obtained. Kerosene is becoming very scarce, and wc hear of sales haviug been effected at 4s 6d. If supplies do not Boon conic to hand prices must still further advance. In spirits we note a considerable quantity has been cleared from warehouse during the week, and stocks aro now light. We quote Hennessy's brandy at 9s 6d, Otard's at Ss Gd, C.V.i J . at Ss 3d. Port and ehorry wines neglected, there being more demand for colonial wines, which we quote at 32s to 31s per dozer.. Oats aro still scarce ; a small lot ex Bruce was disposed of privately at 4s 4d on the wharf.
