Pitch-Foek.—Unless they appear in the published programmes, it is not usual for newspapers to mention the names of ladies and gentlemen taking part in amateur concerts or dramatic performances. Neither is it usual to criticise elaborately the entertainments in which they take part. Both these things may, as you say, have been done elsewhere, but it must have been done in ignorance of ordinary etiquette, if not in a spirit of toadyism. A Widowee's letter is scarcely intelligible enough to justify its insertion. Faie-Play.— Your letter will probably appear on Saturday. Bbigiitonian's reply to Mr Home has been received. We are compelled to hold over " Charleston news " from a correspondent, and original articles.
