The s.s. John Penn, M. Car y. commander, i.:i't Onehunga on Tuesday the sth inst., at 8 o'clock p.m.; arrived at Wanganui at 5 p.m. on Thursday; sailed on Saturday evening at 9 p.m.; and arrived in Nelson on Sunday at 12.30 p.m. Left again on Monday at 8 o'clock pjß., and arrived at the wharf, Westport, on Tuesday evening, after waiting oil' the bar for several hours owing to the s f ate of the tide. PTxperienced fine weather throughout the voyage. The Charles Edward, Murray, and Lyttelton were in Nelson when the Penn left. The Storm Bird sailed from that port for Taranaki and Manukau on Monday evening. The steamer Charles Edward arrived in port yesterday morning, after a very smart trip from Nelson. She left Nelson at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, and was in Westport by 3 a.m. yesterday. During the time she has been away, she made a trip to Blenheim, returning with a shipment of stock. The s.s. Murray, with sheep and general cargo, arrived in port yesterday evening, having left Nelson at 8 p.m. on Tuesday. The schooner Nautilus went ashore on the North Spit at Manawatu on the afternoon of Wednesday hist, the 6th inst., and is likely to become a total wreck. She was laden princip Uly with machinery for a flax dressing mill about to be established at Manawatu. The schooner Jane Lockhart has been wrecked near Cape Capricorn. The crew have arrived safely at Bockhampton.
