The steamers Charles Edward and Murray arrived in port yesterday from the south, and, after a very short stay, sailed for Nelson. The steamer Kennedy is expected to leave Nelson for "Weitport this evening. The s.s. Waipara sails for southern ports at four o'clock this afternoon. The stump of a foremast, apparently having Iwlonged to a vessel of from 150 to 200 tons register, was washed ashore on the North Spit, at Hokitika, on Tuesday.
