The brigantine Mary, from Melbourne, was towed in yesterday morning by the steamer Lioness, which afterwards towed out the brigantine Sea Bird. The other arrivals included Messrs N. Edwards and Co.'s three steamers—Kennedy, Charles Edward, and Lyttelton—and the Wallabi. The Charles Edward, during her absence, has been overhauled and repainted, and she made a good trip down, witb six hours heavy weather. Tenders for a steam service between Hokitika, Big Bay, and intermediate ports, have been called for by the Chairman of the Westland Council. This is the service which the Waipara has hitherto undertaken. The schooner Tyne, which went ashore at We>l ngton Heads, has since broken up, and all her cargo—wool—has been lost.
