POST OFFICE SAVINGS' BANK
The New Zealand Gazette; of March publishes the following regulations fo.~ the hanks as above newly established at Christ church, Lyttolton, Kaiapoi, Timaru, Akraoa llokilika Grcymouth, Waimate, Westport. ana Charleston. . L 1. Interest at he rate of 5 per cent, per annum is given on sums less: than £2OO -at the rate of 4 per cent, per annum on nuns over £oOO ; and in the same proportion for any shorter time on every eo mplete £ 1 deposited, provided that no interest be allowed on more than £SOO. 2. Depositors in the Tost Office Saving s Banks have direct Government Security for the prompt repayment of their money. 3. A depositor in any one of the Post Office Banks can continue his deposits at any other of such Banks, and can withdraw his money at that Post Office Bank which is most convenient to him. 4. The strictest secrcsy is observed witl respect to the names of depositors in Post Office Banks, and the amounts of their depossits. 6. Money may be deposited by or on halt of minors. Depositors over seven years oi: ago are treated as persons of full age, but minors under seven years of age cannot withdraw their deposits until they have reached the age of seven. 7. Applications to the Chief Office in each Province on the business of Post Office Savings Banks, md the replies sent thereto are tree iron, caarge or postage.
