PUBLIC NOTICE. mllE attention of the inhabitants of Westport is called to the following Proclamation, published in the Provincial Gazette of the 28th of October, ISGB "VV. N. Ebanklyn", Inspector of Police. Police Department, Westport, November Gth, 18GS. PROCLAMATION. By his Honor Oswald Cttjitis, Esquire, Superintendent of the Province of Nelson, in the Islands of New Zealand, &c., &c, &c. TN accordance with the provisions of the " Marine Act, 1567," I, Oswald Curtis, Superintendent of the Province of Nelson, hereby make the following Harbor Regulation for the port of Buller, on the West Coast, and declare that the same shall come into operation and take effect from and after the date hereof.

REGULATION. No driftwood shall be removed without the permission of the Harbormaster from any laud of the Crown upon the sea beach, to the eastward of the Buller, between the river Buller and the river Orowaiti, and to the westward of the river Buller, between the river Buller, and a point on the sea beach formed by the continuation of the boundary line of Section, No. 226, to the sea, and any person removing the same shall be liable to a penalty not exceeding five pounds. Given under my hand, and issued under the Public Seal of the Province of Nelson, this 28th day of October, in the year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred and sixty eight. ALTERATION IN TARIFF WESTLAND STEAM COFFEE MILLS, TANCRED STREET, HOEIITKA. PARSONS AND CO. beg to draw X the attention of Merchants and the Public of the Biiller District to the alteration in the duty on Coffee. The Customs Tariff Amendment Act contains the following alteration in the duty on this article —Raw Coffee 3d per lb., Roasted Coffee 5d per lb. By manufacturing all their coffees on the West Coast, Parsons and Co. are enabled to supply their superior Coffee fresh roasted, 2d per lb. below any foreign manufacturers. Their prices remain as usual, and every package is guaranteed pure. Sold by nearly all storekeepers on the "West Coast, and wholesale only by Parsons and Co.
