Exceeding half-an-ounee but not . exceeding ohe hot every ounce or fraction of an ounce over one ounce Twopence. JX—Country Letters. Posted at any Post-office within the colony for delivery at or from any other Post-office within the same province Not exceeding half-an-ounce Twopeuce Exceeding half-au-ounee but not exceeding one ounce ... Fourpenee For every ounce or fraction of an ounce over one ounce ... Fourpenee ill.—lnterprovincial Letters. Posted at any Post-office within the colonj for delivery at or from any Post-office in ar ) other province within the c >lony Not exceeding half an ounce, Threepence. Exceeding half-an-ounce hut not exceeding one ounce ... Sixpence For every ounce or fraction of an ounoe over one ounce Sixpence NEWSPAPERS. For places within the colony, the Australian Colonies, and the United Kingdom, via Suez and bouthampton, are chargeable with a rate or one penny. Newspapers for the United Kingdom, via Panama or Suez, one penny; and Marseilles, threepence each. In consequence of newspapers frequently posted in packages of more than one number, the same are detained at the Chief 1 ost-otlice, and attention is called to the following postal regulation:— " Newspapers for transmission within the colony shall be posted in single numbers, so put up that the date of publication may be readily seen. Packages of newspapers consisting ol more than one number shall be treated as bookpackages.
