BY ELECTRIC TELEGRAPH. (FROM OUR OWN CORRESPONDENT.) October 15, 1 p.m. The channel was worked this morning by three steamers, very successfully. There is twelve feet of water on the bar, and a very wide channel.
I'he Mary Cumming was towed out for Melbourne ; also the Heron. The Dancing Wave from Timaru, was towed in; and also the Maid of Erin, from Melbourne. The Alhambra also, was tendered. A heavy rain is falling, but there is only a slight fresh in the river.
