CHARLESTON MINING INTELLIGENCE.

SARDINE TERRACE. On Sardine Terrace, mining matters present a prosperous appearance. Ryan and party's Horse Machine drives 6 stampers and remunerates well, £loto£ls a-week for each share holder. Within the last day or two arrangements have been made with the proprietors of an engine, on the Back Lead, and the purchase effected. Cousidering the amount of the party have still in the claim, there can be but little doubt but the arrangement is a desirable one.

Barke and Party's claim adjoins and may perhaps be said to yield a similar amount to that of Ryan and party. Johnson and party, and Dawson and party make from £7 to £8 a week a man.

Wright, O'Brien and party, make about £lO a week. These are the only claims of any importance on the Sardine Terrce excepting an engine claim which has not been alluded to. The majority, indeed, I may say, all the claims consist of horse batteries ; water in sufficient quantity to drive a wheel being a matter of impossibility to obtain. There are about 40 men on the terrace the most of whom board with Mrs Home who "offers a comfortable and first-class entertainment.
