With regard to the statement put forthinthe leading articleof yesterday's euenirtg's Star, concerning the authorship of certain letters lately appearing in the Herald, we will simply state, that the Editor of the Westport Times is not the Westport Correspondent of the Charleston Herald, and morover, that this fact was known to the writer of the article referred to, it the time he penned his strictures. [n endeavouring to make capital out
of the matter to our disadvantage, our contemporary has somewhat overstoped the limits Of strict truth, and the lofty tone of supperior virtue it assumes, would therefore appear to be slightly misplaced.
