From Wanganui—--24 head cattle, 200 sheep, 20 pigs, order. -The s.s Beautiful Star left Dunedin at thr e e p.m. on Wednesday the 2nd, had strong head win '<: in 1 -ca as far as Akaroa, and arrived i n Eyttelton at six p.m. on Thursday- Sailed 0 n Fridhy the 4th at four p.m., passed through Tory Channel at eleven a.m. on Saturday, and arrived at Picton at two p.m. the same day : left at three p.m. for Wanganui, and entered the river on Sunday at eleven a.m., landed cargo, and on Monday, took in 29 cattle 200 sheep, and 2o pigs ; sailed on Wednesday at three a.m., had strong easterly breeze across the straits, with heavy sea, passed Cape Farewell at five p.m. same day, Rock's Point at ten p.m., slowed the engine at two a.m., anchored off the bar at six a .m. yesterday ; crossed the i bar at three p.™»., and moored at the wharf. She brings about 75 tons cargo for the West Coast, besides her stock.
The p.s. Charles Edward, Captain Palmer arrived at Onehunga forty eight hours after she left Westport, although going twelve hours out of that time quite slow, her speed would enable her to make the run in less than thirty six hours. She left Onehunga on Friday evening at five o'clock, and arrived in Nelson on Suuday morning at 7 o'clock. She experienced very strong south east winds both ways, and left Nelson on "Wednesday at twenty minutes past four p.m. ; arrived off the bar at noon yesterday, and took her place at Powell's wharf at one o'clock. She brings a general cargo both for Westport and Greymouth,
