CIBCUMLOCUTION OFFICE —A FACT. — The Superintendant of a military gymnasium in England had occasion lately to apply for a plain round wooden bar, such as is in constant use in every gymnasium. The application went through the foliowiug course : —The Superintendent of the gymnasium, who is a commissioned officer, applies to the Brigade-Major, who forwards the application to the General Commanding, who refers to the Commanding Royal Engineer, who returns it to the General, who sends it to the Quar-termaster-General, who forwards it to the General Commanding at Aldershot, who submits it to the director of Gymnastics, who transmits it to the Assistant Quartermaster-General, who returns it again to the General commanding, the garrison in which tbe gymnasium is, who then, if every-body approves, sends it to the Commanding Royal Engineer, who finally orders the bar.
