Whsitort Timks Office, Monday Evening. The amount of duty for the week ending Saturday, has been £io"A 8s 4d of which £125 was duty on lotio ozs of gold shipped hy the Union ißank. The Wallabi brought 5o "head of cattle during the week, besides a number of sheep. The Konnedy took back to Nelson a lot of sheep, which could not be disposed of either here or at G-reymouth, for the price asked, namely I2s 6d a head. Trade during the past week has been dull. Flour is offered at a reduction on last week's quotations, but the demand is not brisk, and the supplies on hand are larger than usual. We may say that this "article at present is un- • quotable, purchasers having to pay such prices as may be agreed upon. There is no alteration ill wines and spirits, which remain firm at last week's prices. There is an advance on oats over last quotations, but the demand i s not brisk. Potatoes remain the same, without an increased demand. The market is well supplied with produce of every ind, and retailers' prices remain unaltered.
