Kennedy, from Nelson. VESSELS IK TORT. Ketch—Alert. Schooners—Queen of the Isles, Fairy, Steamer —Lioness. The ketch Enterprise went ashore at MoMliinui on Saturday while trying to get in. No blame is attributable to the Harbormaster, who had the danger flag flying at the time. The schooner Queen of the Isles moved over to the other side to-day, and will put to sea when an opportunity offers, for being towed out. Up to the time of our going to press, neither the Nelson or Kennedy put in an appearance, but we may expect a steamer from the north at any moment. FAREWELL SPIT, COOKS STRAITS. The following notice is published in the " NewZcalaud Gazette:" " Notice to Mariners.—Notice is hereby given that observations taken by the Chief Marino Surveyor, from the colonial surveying steamer St Kilda, show that Spit end or the extreme eastern end of Farewell Spit has shifted, and is now one nautical mi'.e and a quarter to the north east of its position, as shown on the Admiralty chart (sheet No. 1) of Now Zealand, Admiralty number 2616. " The alteration is not sufficiently great to render the course given in the ' New Zealand Pilot' for clearing this danger unsafe. "James M. Balfour, *' Colonial Marine Engineer.
