Per Wallabi, from Wanganui—l ton salt, 8i- bags oats, 47 bales chaff, 50 head cattle, 2 bales of hay, 1 box eggs, 23 turkeys, 200 sheep, Messrs Frpeth and Greg. Per p.s. Charles Edward, from Nelson—ol) bags potatoes, 20 do do, 8 do turnips, 2 cases fruit, Piekard ; 19 casks butter, Munro ; 2 pkgs Hay; 1 parcel, Jones; 20 kegs butter, Jackson; 1 case eggs, Alcorn and Co. ; 30 bags malt, Leslie ; 19 pkgs, Piekard; 5 pkgs, King and Co.; 16 head cattle, Order. The s.s. Wallabi left Wangaimi at 8 a.m. on Tuesday morning and arrived outside this bar at three o'clock yesterday morning, and crossed the bur at 10 o'clock, when she proreeded to the lagoon ; she brings 50 head of •cattle and 200 sheep, besides a general cargo. She experienced during nearly the whole of her run down a head wind. She reports that the Beautiful Star had not left up to the time of her departure. The Charles Edward p.s. left Nelson on Wednesday at half-past one o'clock, and came up to Powell's Wharf yesterday at two o'clock; she encountered a heavy south west wind all the way down. She brings 16 head of cattle for Westport, with seven saloon and three steerage passengers. The following is from the "Colonist" of Tuesday, and all'ords some information respecting the expected s.s. Beautiful Star:— " The Charles Edward, which left here on Friday, at 4 p.m., with the Patea volunteers, arrived off the Wanganui bar at 5 a.m. on Saturday ; crossed the bar at 8 a.m., and discharged cargo and passengers. Detained inside by strong S.W. winds until yesterday morning at 9 a.m., when she succeeded in getting out, and arrived in Kelson harbor soon after midnight. Reports the Beautiful Star having left Wanganui for West Coast on the day the Charles Edward arrived, but returned there the same night, having lost nine head of cattle and one hundred sheep, after eight hours'"' absence. She discharged the remainder of her stock at Wanganui in order to repair damages; all her ballast having shifted, and some of her bulwarks being carried away, it was found necessary to beach her on arriving outside the heads, in consequence of her having shipped a considerable quantity of •water. She intends to proceed at an early date.
