SIGNALS TO BE USED AT ALL NEW ZEALAND PORTS.
105. From and after tlie first day of September, ISGB, the following general signals will be used at all New Zealand Ports. Tidal Signals. 10G. —Tidal signals are to consist of one, two, or three balls, of any color which can best be seen at any port, arranr/ed vertically. Plot d Tide. —Two balls vertical at masthead, not less than six feet apart Last Quarter Flood.—Three balls vertically at masthead, with not less than six feet between each. Ebb Tide.—One ball at masthead. Bah or Danger Signals. 107. Bar signals will bo distinguished by their being arranged Jaorizontallc/. "Wait for High "Water.—A ball at each yard arm and one on inast half the length of the yard below the yard. Stand on, take the Bar.—Four balls horizontal on yard, two on each side of mast. Bar dangerous. —■ Three balls horizontal on yard, two on any one side of mast and one on the other Put to Sea.—Two balls horizontal on yard, on either side of mast. Note.—Semaphore arms are to be used for piloting vessels overall bars where a pilot establishment is maintained, when pilots are not put on board, and the vessel being piloted is to be steered in the direction towards which the semaphore arm is pointed. When the semaphore arm is dropped the vessel is to be kept stead yasshe goes.
