TIDE OVER THE NORTH SPIT.

PEOPLE FLOODED OUT. Last night or rather this morning, at 12.45, one of the highest tides known on tho Buller washed right over the North Spit, and compelled a large number of persons to leave their houses till it abated. The police were on the spot, boats were provided, and every precaution taken in case of danger, but we are happy to say that injury to property is at all events the worst of it. We cannot give particulars in this, but must wait till our next issue.
