SHIPPING INTELLIGENCE.

PORT OF WESTPORT. HIGH WATER. This Day ... 8.12 a.m., 8.36 p.m. ARRIVAL. July 2—Nightingale, barque, M'Phaiden, Piaster, from Melbourne. Speuce Brothers, ■ugents. DEPARTURE. July 2—Murray, b.s., Holmes, for Greymouth and Hokitika. J. W. Kerby, agent. EXPECTED ARRTVAI.B. Beautiful Star, from Dunedin. John I'enn, i'rom llokitika. Nelson, from Nelson. Charles Edward, from Nelson. Wallabi, from Manakau via Wanganui. YESSELS IN PORT. Barque—Nightingale (in the roadstead). Schooners —Ada (on the spit). Amateur. Retches Enterprise, Young America, Mary. Cutter—Charlotte. Stenmnsr—Lioness.

The favorite barque Nightingale, belonging to Spence Bros., came up the roadstead yesterday afternoon in splendid style, with every sail set and drawing. She has made the round from here to Newcastle, -where she loaded with goal from there to Melbourne. She then landed her black diamonds and took in a general cargo, and back to Westport in the space of sixty-one days, good work for aay vessel. The Lioness was sent here to wait, for her, but when she arrived the tug had no hands on board —the engineer and firemen having left her, and she therefore could render the barque no service by hist night's tide. Another engineer and fresh firemen were expected to be sent in the John Penn, and if that vessel arrives in time, as expected, the Lioness will go out this morning. The tide is exactly the same as when the Nightingale was last brought in, and there is amply sufficient water for her to enter. We hope to see hcrj moored safe and sound alongside the wharf this morning.
