PORT OF WESTPORT. II Kill WATER. This Day ... 2.10 a.m., 2.34 p.m. ARRIVALS. June 25—Murray, s.s., Holmes, from Hokitika. J. W. Kirby, agent, DEPARTURES. June 2. r ) —Murray, b.S., Holmes, for NelsonSea Breeze, schooner, Jucearino, master, for Nelson, in ballast. PASSENGER I,IST. Per Murray, from Hokitika—Messrs Pickaid, M'Eachern, Curtis, and Smith. EXPECTED ARRIVALS. Nightingale, frpm Melbourne. Kennedy, from Nelson. Charles Edward, from Greymouth. Beautiful Star, from Dunedin. VESSELS IN PORT. Schooners -Ada (on tho'spitj. Ketches Enterprise, Young America, Mary. Cutter—Charlotte. St earner—l noi icss. IMPORTS. Her Murray, from Hokitika--Free and duty paid—lo bags oats, Order; 1 parcel, Bank of New Zealand ; 4 bdls iron; 1 do wire, 1 parcel, Bennett; 1 parcel books, Union Bank; 2 drums oil, Field ; 2 bdls iron, Sheldon. We may expect the Nightingale a'most daily now, for the time of her departure from Melbourne was fixed for the 13th inst. Even if she has been detained' some days wc may expect her to put in an appearance iu a week or so. The Murray arrived here yesterday morning, after a good trip from Hokitika. 'She left in the afternoon for Nelson. The Nelson and the Murray started nearly at ihe same time yesterday afternoon for Nelson, and a good race may be anticipated. The former boat had a slight start, but her captain had every confidence of overhauling her. On the other hand Captain Dillon intends, no doubt, to get the.best out of his favorite boat that he can, and a fair wind will help him amazingly, for his paddle-boxes will act to some degree as lower stunsails. On the other hand the speed of the Murray under canvass is well known, and a capital struggle may be locked for. The s.s. Beautiful Star is laid on for the same route again, and is announced* to sail from Dunedin for Lyttelton, Wellington. Wanganui, and Westport on the 20th instant. Probably her time of departure will be later than that, but we may in any ease look for her in a few days. The Kennedy was outside last night, but did not come up in time for us to extract from her files.
