Per Bruce from Hokitika—23 cases kerosene, Jackson. EXPORTS. Per Bruce for Hokitika—Part of original cargo ex Beautiful Star. The s.s. Kennedy left Nelson at midnight hist Saturday, and got as far as Kauranga Point, when she encountered a very still' breeze from the southwest, and was compelled fi run back to West Wanganui, which she reached at two o'clock in the afternoon. She tried it again on Sunday at midnight, but had to return. She remained there twenty-four hours and left at midnight again, arriving in the Bullcr at 12.30 p.m. She sailed again yesterday for the South. The s.s. Murray left Wanganui at 10 p.m. on Saturday, and had a fine run across the straits. On reaching Steven's Island, she met a sneezer from the south west, and had to shelter under Cape Foul wind on Sunday night. Started again on Monday evening, and had a head wind all the way to the Bu'ler. Anchored oil' the bar at 8 a.m. yesterday, and came up about noon. She brought a full cargo of stock for Mr Croker.
