To prevent as far as possible collisions at sea, and to put masters of vessels in mind of " the rules of the road," the following aids to memory have been published by the AssistantSecretary to the Board of Trade, London : TWO STEAMSHIPS MEETING. Meeting steamers, do not dread When you see three lights ahead— Port your helm and show your red. TWO STEAMSHIPS PASSING. Green to Green, or Red to Red— Perfect safety—Go ahead! TWO STEAMSHIPS CROSSING. If to your starboard Red appear, It is your duty to keep clear; To act as judgment says is proper— To port, or starboard—back, or stop her; But when upon your port is seen A steamer's starboard light of Green, There's not so much for you to do. The Green light must keep clear of you.
