The trial of the Fenian prisoners was resumed to-day, and is likely to extend over two days. The first information was withdrawn in order to include tho names of all the prisoners in ono indictment. Messrs liees and Guinness appeared for the prisoners.

The greatest excitement prevailed in to the Court. jVo person was allowed to pass along the street, or enter the Court without permission. The evidence given at the trial today was the same as on the last occasion; no now facts were elicited. It is reported that the St Kilda is on her way down here with a detachment of seventy of the armed constabulary. The nomination for Wcstland Boi*oughs took place to-day at noon. There were only fifteen persons present. Mr Bright retired in favor of MiShaw. The show of hands was : Shaw, S ; Harrison, 4. A poll was demanded by Mr Harrison, which takes place tomorrow. "With regard to the wound in the back of his Eoyal Highness, a faint scar is all that remains to mark the spot which caused so much apprehension in the public mind. His Eoyal Highness is now enabled to move about the house without artifical support; he is in excellent spirits, and much gratified at his progress towards complete recovery. Dr Young, who during the greater part of the time that his Royal Highness has been ill, has been assisted by Dr Watson of the Challenger and Dr Powell, of the Galatea, still remains in constant attendance upon the Prince.
