HONOR TO WHOM HONOR IS DUE.
(To the, Editor of the West port Times and Charleston Argus.)
Sir, —Permit mc through the medium of your paper, to ask the Loyal Demonstration Committee of this town, why the National Flag or color of Ireland appeared nowhere ; that I could never for an instant harbor the thought that, gentlemen whom we all honor and respect, who were the leaders and chief ornaments of our procession, would bear any part in an act, which had the effect of representing us all as professing loyalty to our beloved Queen, disgracing her Royal escutcheon, and at the same time insulting our loyal fellow subjects last Thursday, in connection with the national rejoicing ; and whether it was with their knowledge or consent that the green ground upon which the harp is placed in the Royal Standard of the United Kingdom, was erased, and pale yellow or orange substituted. While asking these questions, I must declare, I have the honor to be, Sir, a loyal subject. Vindicator.
