Maori Girl ought to have won the race, as she was leading all the way, and was beaten in the •flat running at the finish. The first heat -was an exciting race 'between Kohler and Mocking 'Bird ■ and was won by Kohler by half ailength. In the second heat Mocking Bird won by a length, and won<the last heat in i a canter. A Maori race for 5 sovs, concluded 'the sport. The meeting altogether has 'been a successful one.
